@ NAyK - Thank you for giving it a try! The removal of the Google pages was done more for technical than design reasons. The concept of the "page" becomes difficult when you're constantly re-ranking the results. Other than that, we try to be as "discrete" as possible.

I'm pleased to hear, however, that you're finding the recommendations helpful! You might have been able to find those results with clever reformulations, but the objective is to remove that burden from the user. The more difficult the search, the greater the onus upon the user to find the right words, which can often be an impossible task.

If you have any comments or questions, please email me and it'd be my pleasure to be of assistance.

TO Mark Cramer: Hey thanks for the recommendation of SurfCanyon. I certainly hadn't heard of it until you pointed it out.

Honestly... I found the interface strange... ie. it changed a few things in Google and I had to get used to it. Significantly it removed the Google 12345 search options to "NextPage" which is more reader friendly, and yet I miss the Google version.

But I must admit that some recommendations were helpful... but again I didn't know whether I would have found them without SurfCanyon or with...

Still... I'm continuing to try it... getting used to it... slowly.

nice list! my favorites add-ons are no script and Ad-block, i find them very useful, specially when you work because you don't have to see all the annoying banners and publicity
