Why Ubuntu Got It All Wrong

This is an interesting article that is not saying much new, and presents a vision for what a Linux distribution needs to have.

Again the aesthetics issue comes up. And it is becoming more clear to me that for a Linux distrobution to win over people to its side, it needs to have a wow factor that goes beyond KDE/GNOME looks. I like XFCE. And it seems that there are a few desktop environments that could achieve this. In the same vein, I’m disappointed that SUSE and Mandriva free don’t offer XFCE (or something similar) as an alternative desktop environment.
