Linux Watch: Why Linux will never fade September 12, 2006

In contrast to the previous post about how Linux will never be popular in the global market, I don’t know enough to argue against that. But today I learned about another Desktop manager that is extremely interesting. Rox Desktop is a file based Desktop environment and to understand what it is you have to read its description. Basically, it sounds extremely simple and manageable, and gives so much more control and sense to the computing world. When I read about Rox I immediately wanted to install it, use it, and see it improve. Sadly, I was unable to do so, but I wait for the day when it is attached to other distros or becomes easier to download/install. Basically, I feel that as long as there are programs that generate such excitement, Linux will never fade. The picture below is of the default look.
